Dilexi Te Dated 10-4-2025

Pope Leo XIV released his first apostolic exhortation showing its Liberation Theology roots (see Father Gustavo Gutierrez’s A Theology of Liberation, 1971). The teaching document, Dilexi Te, ends “121: Through your work, your efforts to change unjust social structures or your simple, heartfelt gesture of closeness and support, the poor will come to realize that Jesus’ words are addressed personally to each of them: “I have loved you.” (Rev 3:9).”

Pope Leo XIV appears to have a high level of intuition and empathy and in Dilexi Te goes to the heart of the matter in human relationships.

In 1978 at the High School Graduation Ceremony at Saint John High School Bishop James Wlliam Malone spoke. He indicated that Graduates should steer clear of the temptation of Communism and Socialism and Liberation Theology and stated that “You are not your brother’s keeper.”

It does appear that the Catholic Church has fundamentally changed. All consistent with The Hygiology Post, Subtext To Posts, identified above.
