Bernie Sanders continues to advocate for medicare for all Americans (see https://berniesanders.com/medicareforall/; obtained on 2-3-18) and last month conducted a town hall meeting toward that end. Had he beaten Hillary Clinton in the primaries in 2016 he would have likely been the next US President.
Will he run in 2020?
Both the state of healthcare in the US and his health generally may be important determinants as to whether he would run again. His apparent excellent level of judgment as evidenced by his voting record on the Iraq War Resolution and positions on healthcare place him in an excellent position should he decide to run. His age may be something that directly or indirectly could deter a run for the presidency in 2020.
