Hillary Clinton would have won the Democratic Nomination and Presidency hypothetically twice if it had not been for one thing.
Joe Biden likewise will never win the Presidency.
Many others could be added to the list.
Barack Obama had the credentials to win and did so twice.
Donald Trump won and beat Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump indicated he was not in favor of the resolution authorizing the Iraq War in 2002.
No political candidate who wants to win the Presidency can ever have actually voted in favor of the resolution authorizing the Iraq War in 2002 in my humble opinion. This was likely one of the most important votes ever that the US Senate undertook. Those who were against it directly or indirectly have become President and can become President in the near future. It is interesting that neither Trump nor Obama explicitly cast a vote either way at the time on the resolution. Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul, for example, did cast votes against the resolution authorizing the Iraq War in 2002. Either someone who did not have an opinion made public at the time (e.g., they were very young) or someone who was directly or indirectly publicly against the resolution authorizing the Iraq War in 2002 will be the next elected US President in the humble opinion of this author.
The vote authorizing the Iraq War in 2002 could be thought of as a supreme test of judgment and independent thinking especially from certain lobbyists in my humble opinion. However, it certainly showed that those with higher levels of intuition were less likely to vote in favor of authorizing the Iraq War in 2002 (please see previous articles showing a method[s] to objectively identify levels of intuition).
