Senator Bernie Sanders has identified issues and his position on such issues (https://berniesanders.com/issues/; obtained 09-04-2016). He has a relatively high level intuition (see previous articles on the mainstream 2012 US Presidential Candidates for the methodology used here and previously to determine level of intuition) and likely the highest of any candidate currently running for US President in either the Democratic or Republican Party (ie., now it is Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump). Per his website (https://berniesanders.com/issues/; obtained on 09-04-2016) he identified issues and his position on such issues. Here is an excerpt from one issue he identified: “Fighting to Lower Prescription Drug Prices” (https://berniesanders.com/issues/fighting-to-lower-prescription-drug-prices/; obtained on 09-04-16):
“THE PROBLEM
Americans pay, by far, the highest prices for prescription drugs in the entire world. When we talk about health care, we are talking about the need of the American people to be able to afford the medicine their health care providers prescribe. A life-saving drug does no good if the people who need it cannot afford that drug.
Yet, last year, nearly one in five Americans between the ages of 19 and 64 – 35 million people – did not get their prescriptions filled because they did not have enough money. In the wealthiest country in the history of the world, Americans should not have to live in fear that they will go bankrupt or die because they cannot afford to take the medication they need.”
As a currently practicing psychologist the author of this article sees patients regularly. In his practice at least four in five patients did not get all of their their prescriptions filled within the past year reportedly because they did not have enough money.
