The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Study of the Central Intelligence Agency’s Detention and Interrogation Program released today a 525-page unclassified report.

The report found that torture conducted by the CIA regularly led to “fabricated information”. Prisoners were threatened with sexual violence, waterboarding, and pressured with threats against their children and mothers. One prisoner died during interrogation. Two psychologists who helped the CIA create the torture techniques and reportedly played a central role in the operation, assesments, and management earned over US$81 million as contractors. Conclusions included that the CIA’s; use of its enhanced interrogation techniques was not an effective means of acquiring intelligence or gaining cooperation from detainees; use of its enhanced interrogation techniques rested on inaccurate claims of their effectiveness; interrogations of CIA detainees were brutal and far worse than the CIA represented to policymakers and others; and the conditions of confinement for CIA detainees were harsher than the CIA had represented to policymakers and others.

The Hygiology Post ® has concluded that the above identified torture behavior if accurately portrayed does not appear to either enhance health or preserve health and does appear to be in violation of The Geneva Convention. Also, it does appear to be immoral yet predictable. A significant causal factor of such apparent torture does appear to be lobbying in the United States which has wielded much power. All societies would benefit from leaders who have relatively high levels of intuition and this would mean that for most societies their leaders would have substantially more intuition. Over time such leadership with increasingly higher levels of intuition has increasingly been present. Previous articles in The Hygiology Post ® have explained and expounded on; the pernicious influence of lobbyists; how social change has appeared historically to come about in a healthy manner through the intuition of people; how over time people will exercise more empathy; and how The Voter Scorecard © has constituted a method to enhance the decision-making behavior quality of people and thereby decrease the influence of money on voting behavior.
